Park Hoon-jung’s latest film Tropical Sadness has won the Silver Raven (Jury Special Prize) at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

The film portrays a group of young assassins raised by a jungle overlord, whose loyalty unravels as suspicion and revenge take hold within the organization.

It was the only Korean entry invited to the international competition section and stood out amid strong global contenders.

The festival is widely regarded as one of the world’s top three fantastic film festivals, alongside the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and Fantasporto International Film Festival.

Following earlier invitations to major festivals, the film is drawing global attention and is set for domestic release after post-production is completed.
