Korean film submissions to the Jeonju International Film Festival have broken records for the second consecutive year, highlighting the growth of the domestic film industry.

According to the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, a total of 1,835 Korean films were submitted this year, marking a 15.2% increase from the previous year.
The submissions include 165 films in the Korean Competition section, 1,510 in the Korean Short Film Competition, 46 in the Regional Competition, and 114 in the Non-Competition Feature section.
Notably, submissions for short films and feature films stood out. The total number of entries, including international competition films, reached a record-breaking 2,497.
The final selection for the Korean competition will be announced next month, while the festival will take place in Jeonju from April 30 to May 9.
